There was a problem with Unixlib-based programs like CVS which would
sometimes sieze the machine in the middle of a serial port session (usually
trying to use CVS over dialup internet). It was something to do with
handlers being called when the program was swapped out. This was fixed a
long time ago - 2001, something like that. John Tytgat did the work, and
this was the reason the SharedUnixLibrary module came into existence.

But I don't remember a patch being issued, other than new versions of the
programs concerned (and SUL to support them).
