It doesn't seem to make any difference from VA, the windows HP driver
STILL appears to override print settings issued from Style.
As has been pointed out numerous times it does not. You keep repeating
this idea, but it is just your misinterpretation of the facts.
Unfortunately, as long as you keep withholding the facts from us and
instead choose to present us with the above theory chances are slim
that we will be able to help you solving your problem. I may have
missed this, but in all the messages you have written you have not
once told us what kind of printout you actually get.
Depending on the setting I choose,
If I choose Pamphlet mode in Impresson Style and click on print on both
sides of the paper in the Windows printer control window, I receive text
printed across two pages where the text is sliced in two.
Uuurrrggghhh....You haven't been listening/thinking.
Set the Windows driver to normal A4 printing. That means on ONE side of the
paper and in Portrait mode. Set the Style printer setup to Pamphlet and
Sideways. Now print. Style and the RISC OS printer drivers will send a
series of A4 pages to the Windows driver corresponding to one side of all
the pairs of pages. Now turn the printer sheets over and put them back in
the printer paper tray. Go back to the Style printer setup and change the
setting of the '2nd half' button. Then print again which will (as you might
expect) print the other sides of all the pages.
Now BEFORE you do any of this you'll have to decide whether you need to tick
'Reverse' and whether you need to print the 2nd half first. For a 'normal'
laser printer where the paper is placed in the feed drawer so the side
printed on is 'down' and it emerges in the out tray printed side down select
'Reverse', Collated' (for multiple copies) and print the 2nd half first.
This will result in the 2nd pass being printed on the 'right' pages of the
first half and everything emerging in the correct order. Other printing
systems may require different settings.
