With all the versions of RISC OS I have had if one wants to keep a
specific display then Alarm$Options needs setting by the user. The
setting in Alarm's Setup is transient, not saved anywhere.

Is there any good reason why this should be so? One would expect that
clicking OK in 'Alarm setup' would take whatever action was necessary to
save _all_ the choices.

Truthfully it's just never been updated to do this. I've spent some
time on updating the ROOL version (and yes I have fixed the saving of
Alarm$Options) and I suspect the main reason is that internally it's
pretty horrific, and it's not something anyone would want to spend
much time on. At some point in the near future I should finish the
changes I'm doing - and then a fixed version will become available.
