I change the format to %mn-%dy %24:%mi which gets rid of the year and
seconds on the display. Clicking on ok changes it to what I've configured
but on re-boot it comes up as original. It has saved the change from
analogue to digital, though.
On previous OS, as I said, this particular configuration was
saved/applied via the Boot file in Tasks - but OS6 has done away with
this.
The tutorial on Alarm does give the procedure for changing the display to
what you want but makes no mention of any special needs for saving this
configuration.
I could just try a Boot file in tasks - but resetting this machine takes
ages because of the problem mentioned earlier and it's not high up on the
list of priorities. ;-)
Have you done this previously, or is there another file in your Boot sequence that might be interfering?
I'm just wondering because the likeliest reason for it failing is if somewhere further in the Boot sequence there is another file which is setting Alarm settings.
In other words:
- !Alarm saves its file as 'File A'
- Another edited file exists as 'File B' which uses the default settings.
- When Booting, !Boot runs File A, then File B, resetting the changes.
- When you load Alarm, it looks like nothing has changed.
That file could be anything in Choices:Boot.Predesk, Choices:Boot.Tasks, or anything run by the BootRun plugin.
Best wishes,
Drew
