Re: Help needed - cash offered - convert Publisher/ps2 - PDF

Any chance you could stop top posting? It's conventional around here to
follow standard usenet conventions...

I'm hoping someone has mastered the black art of PDF production and
can help me out, for sensible money.

I have a number of quite complex Publisher files - magazines and
manuals which would like to convert to PDF with a view to being
able to publisher then online.

Having just wasted another day tearing my hair over ghostscript I've
finally realsed its just not going to work on my system, so if
anyone can help I'm willing to pay: I send you ps2 files - or the
Pubolisher originals if you like, you send me back clean working
pdfs, money changes hands!

Please reply by enmail rather than posting replies to the group -
all offers wll be replied to and very much appreciated.

Have you tried PrintPDF from
http://www.stevefryatt.org.uk/software/printpdf/ which is so foolproof
that even I can use it :-)

Als - I think it still needs ghostscript installed and running and I
can't get it on - there's some odd file error

You need long filenames installed, and an unzip tool that can handle them.
I would suggest using raFS to get the long filename storage; there's a
link on my site (above). However...

and anyway it clearly needs over 4mb to run and Ive only got 2: its a
pre strongarm RPC with RO3 . . .

....that could be more of an issue.

the cost of upgrading is prohibitive as my main machine now has to be
windoze for music gear: however, if I could crack this I'd really like
to get back to using Impression as its stil my favourite dp!

Since you have Windows, create the PS file from Impression on RISC OS,
then shift that to the Windows box and run it through GhostScript on the
newer machine. The result will be the same in the end, as GhostScript is
the same on any platform.
