Any sharp-eyed, talented RISC OS workhorse with their eye on some open

Recently purchased a new HP All in one for scanning without using a
pc/mac or linux box. Works well, including printing.
A review will most likely appear in Qercus soon.
supported in RISC OS? ISTR seeing a couple of drivers but the
equipment seemed to expensive although Tesco are selling them now.

I have purchased the HP Photosmart 2575 Printer/Scanner. CheapestHow can you print via USB? The printer manager only allows network,
supplier seemed to be direct from HP via their website (£59.46 inc vat
and delivery).
Printing via USB works fine with the standard DeskJet 850C PDF file.
However I also got Jonathan Briggs to send me the last driver he wrote
for HP printers - the Photosmart 1218. If you use this in conjunction
with the 2575, you can get up to 600dpi when printing from RISC OS.
You can really see the difference over the standard 850C driver.
serial and parallel doesn't it?
or a Unipod for RPC, you can print via USB. I only have experience
with the Simtec USB. This is achieved by setting up Printing to File
from within Printers. My first attempts at printing via my
Photosmart's built in network port failed. I have not revisited that
since, as I purchased it primarily for scanning.
Yes, I did. However as far as I know you cannot get photo quality
I purchased the printer for scanning rather than printing. I am happyI thought you said it printed from USB with Deskjet Files?
with the quality of the scans I get. However it does not scan
directly to RISC OS. It scans to a USB memory stick. I am then able
to transfer from there to RISC OS. Due to the built in 6.4" colour
screen I am able to clearly see what I have scanned. If I am not
happy with what I see, I simply rescan.
The printer is also capable to printing photo quality. Whilst this is
not achievable from RISC OS,
from the standard RO Printers application. You need to use
Guttenprint for photo quality.
No. No memory stick and no USB cable.if it is simply an image you a printing,Do these printer/scanners generally come with a memory stick?
then all you need to do is dump the jpeg to your USB memory stick,
insert stick into printer and voila, photo quality printing.
I intend to write a review of this printer and my experience of withHope this is of some use to you.Well, the more possibilities there are for using off-the-shelf
solutions for scanning and printing the better for RISC OS!
RISC OS for the Qercus magazine. Will hopefully appear in either the
next issue or the one after.
