Note the issue I mentioned.
Minidisc causes screen redraw to claim but not release small amounts
of memory - sometimes (but fairly repeatable if you drag a window
across the screen)
So in what way would that affect any other running applications? I
cannot see any connection to the issue in this thread.
It seems to trash other applications. Even when there is still enough free
memory for that application it manages to corrupt elements of the other
applications memory.
Since Ghostscript is fairly memory hungry it is more likely to suffer the
side effects.
Symptom happens when MiniDisc is running, stop MiniDisc and try again and
the symptom does not occur - what would your first working hypothesis be?
It may not be the answer to the fault, but it is an answer to someone
actually needing things to work.
