Whether this is true of other things, maybe. But for producing PDFs in
this situation I don't think you'll find things any easier on Windows.

The free www.PrimoPDF.org in windoze works in the same way as using a
postscript printer and PrintPDF for a RISC OS user, except for the
absence of drag'n'drop on the former. XP installation is easier though.

I am slowly tackling those who insist on sending me word files. :-)

PDFs are great for sending files which are only meant to be viewed and
printed - such as invoices - but not a lot of good if they need to be
edited by the recipient.

Hmm. Maybe I'll start sending out invoices as PDFs instead of Exel files.
In the days of printed invoices I used to use Ovation Pro, but had to
change to Exel when sending them by email.

I do actually have PDFCreator, which came free with Omnipage Pro. I did
use the free one that came with RISC OS 4 a while back but the three page
limit was a pain and the file sizes were an order of magnitude greater
than Windows created ones.

How do RiscScript and GhostScript file sizes compare with Acrobat and
PDFCreator?
