Why do you use pv-unique, non-standard buttons in the info box? If you
can click the button it should be an action button with a validation
string including R3,5.
Hmm. I just wanted them to be discrete so just used blue foreground text
instead of black. R3,5 validation doesn't really look right in an info
box because it doesn't match the consistency of the other icons.
It works fine in other people's info boxes. Your route would really need
the text underlined and the pointer to change to be correct.
While I'm on the subject I could go for a bit of style-guide
nit-picking too ;) The Cancel and Save buttons in the choices window
seem a funny size and spacing, and I think you're supposed to have a
<hr> separating the action buttons from the options.
Are they. I've slightly tweaked them for the next version, but on the
whole they seem ok to me. I just dragged the default ones from !WinEd.
I don't think the channelled divider is a requirement, but it seems to be
common. I don't use it myself, though a bit more vertical spacing between
the last options and the action buttons may help appease the pedants.
Oh, I've just noticed the drag action has the unwanted side effect
that you can't select text within the note :(
Erm, that's because I've not implemented selecting specific selections
of text. Are you using Select or something? Normally you can't select
portions of text within icons anyway.
It would be nice not to break that functionality (one of the only useful
things in Select) for those who have it.
I notice from the help file there are some keyboard shortcuts. Surely
these are only be shortcuts, not the main interface? How do you see
the corresponding menu options?
There aren't any. StickyPad is designed to be fairly minimal and
unobtrusive. I guess I could add extra menu options if people really
want them, but does anyone actually use menu options for key shortcuts
such as bring to front and put to back. I'd have thought it quicker to
just use the key shortcut?
And if you can't remember the shortcut? It's usually good design to also
have a menu option, even if its only use is to look at the shortcut key
shown next to it. Not everyone reads the manual, and many beginners will
just click Menu and see what happens.
