And 99.99999999999999999999999999999% continued to do so during and after

I know that sounds a bit trite but its a fact of computering that a
program can be completely debugged and cope with everything thrown at
it for years and years - until someone throws something just a little
bit different at it....

So 3DPatch has been fine for you until NS came along. Nobody else not
using 3Dpatch has any problems. Logically the next step is to find out
what 3DPatch is doing wrong as it is clearly the likely source of the
problem.
