Problem using Zap

I'm not sure whether this is a hardware or software problem, but here
goes anyway. Several times recently when using Zap to prepare a text
message it has 'run away' just as if a key is being held down. In fact
it happened in the first attempt to produce this message. I had typed
half of the first line and looked up to find an empty screen with the
cursor at the bottom, gaily inserting line feeds. I'd not touched the
Enter key, by the way.

Delete, Escape and Break did nothing, so I did a CTL/Break and started
all over again. (So far so good - touch wood!)

It has just happened with ImpressionPro too, so I think it may be a
hardware problem. Does anyone have any ideas please?

System is a RiscPC with 233SA, 128MB RAM running RISC OS 4.39
