Yes, but it's nothing to do with Messenger Pro. On broadband, you just
need to use Hermes and NewsHound independently of DialUp, as there's
always a connection available with broadband.

Yes, fairly easily. You can set Hermes to fetch mail from the POP3
accounts at both your dialup and broadband ISPs (if they are different),
but you need to ensure that it only sends mail to the SMTP gateway at the
ISP you are using for connection at that time.
I will look at the Hermes and Newshound solution.
