When you have recovered, I would still be interested in this. Thanks - I'll record some systematic testing and let you know by email.
Presumably you have got the latest Reporter v2.64b?Yes - downloaded earlier this week, and used for the first time to see
if it could shed light on why Publisher would not load.
Did this version of Publisher & Reporter work ok on your previous versionSee above - and the OS on which I know Pub works is 3.11; can't
of RISC OS?
remember if I had it going on 4.02.
I think Adjust 1i2 in ROM = Select 3i4 softloaded over 4.02. I only
I had not noticed the significance of Adjust 1i2 - presumably it is a
ROM? The subtlety of the (obscure) versioning had escaped me! I can see
why you cannot easily revert to v4.02.
got a RiscPC in December 2004, so haven't been a Select subscriber, but
the March offer seemed a good opportunity to upgrade.
I would not recommend that method of starting or stopping it in PreDeskNoted. Alan Calder has suggested filling up memory to leave less than
at all! Reporter is not just an module, it starts as an application and
should only be started by executing its !Run file, as it needs some
variables setting and then starting with RMRun. Only !Run should be used.
128MB or perhaps 64MB free, which would be a better solution, though I
am intrigued to find out what the interaction is between !Reporter and
Publisher here.
To be continued.... :-)
