Well come on Dave, ANSWER THE QUESTION.

You must be able to name at least one ot too things that you couldn't
possibly be without?

As I posted earlier in reply to Chris' comments, I can't ATM find either
the RO list or my own, and I really must get the paperwork finished and
ready to go by tomorrow, otherwise the customer might get going without me.

Well you don't have to look far, go to www.iyonix.com and click on the
RISC OS 5 operating system link in the first paragraph.

The versions of Draw and Paint we have are notably advanced on your
versions.

The only differences I can see Draw saves SVG and Paint imports and exports
the a few more formats. But we aren't sort of bitmap format converters and if
you are serious about bitmap graphics you'll be using a more advanced package
such as Photodesk or DPlngScan which can handle them.

Before anyone chips in that I've forgotten support for alpha channel sprites,
I haven't but what other software actually supports them? They aren't much
use on their own.

IIR. Your version of Internet and the configurations are still of the RO4
type, whereas the Select versions have moved on quite a bit.

Well the essential information is entered exactly the same way. The advanced
part of the Select system isn't the config screens but the zeroconf code, but
I haven't seen a single person mention using it so far.

As far as I can remember, you guys only have partial implementation of the
global clipboard... When compared to Select. GC is very important to me.

All versions of RISC OS since 3.1 have the same support for the global
clipboard protocol. But I suspect what you actually mean is cut and paste
from icons to the clipboard, and if so you've finally hit a useful feature.
There are 3rd party utilities to achive the same thing, but none are quite as
elegant as having it built in to the window manager.

With regard to your last para...
When ROL actually get the preview out and about, I shall listen carefully
to the comments that both you and others might make, and if it seems they
are moving in the right direction, Mr Evans will be receiving a call from
me and my plastic.

Shall I see if I can get Castle to put in icon cut & paste in to RO5? It
might happen before ROL have finished making up exuses not to support the
Iyonix.
