There is very much a problem as has been pointed out. If you run Aemulor in
PreDesk it limits *all* applications to a 28MB wimplsot. Applications running
under RISC OS 5 expect, and in many cases require, a larger wimpslot than
this to operate effectively. If Aemulor is loaded in PreDesk quitting it is
often not enough to restore correct RISC OS 5 behaviour by unlimiting the
wimpslot.
If Aemulor is only loaded when required to run a 26bit application, it can
generally be quit after finishing with the 26bit application, allowing other
programs to operate properly. The only exception to this are a small number
of 26bit applications which won't run if Aemulor is not loaded before the
Window Manager, however this was more of a problem with earlier versions of
Aemulor.
So if you aren't using any applications which require Aemulor in PreDesk,
don't put it there, so you don't cripple one of the advantages of RISC OS 5.
