Yes, I'm running Geminus too (acceleration, screen cacheing and
redraw), which presumably explains the original problem. I've since
downloaded !Tasksetup from Paul Vigay's site, and that was effective
in preventing Aemulor from loading on bootup, since when Artworks is
not running into memory problems.
