One of the silly things regarding long file names on RISC OS compared to
Windows is that, with RISC OS, it doesn't 'fold' the filename across
several lines as Windows does. So, If you have a very long filename, the
folder view gets silly and expands to accomodate the longest filename.
Windows, otoh, folds it across as many lines as necessary, giving a
better folder view in the filer.
