I tried that first, then when it didn't work, I was advised that it
might be better to make an image first.

In which case its never worked properly. I've only been able to burn
one or at the very most two CDs, always had problems.

I'm reluctant to throw good money after bad to get !cdvdburn; it would
seem especially pointless if the burner isn't working. I'd be miffed
if that's the problem as I had a CDreader before, then bought the
writer when I had the machine upgraded.
I'd always assumed it was the software (or me!)
