Firefox as first choice browser

Can anyone please explain in layman's terms how you make Firefox your
browser of choice so that if you click on an URL in an email it runs
Firefox rather than Oregano.

I have looked through Messengers choices but can't find anything about
it. Al;though I can't find it again there was a choice somewhere where
you could choose your browser but it only listed Oregano, Webster and
a couple of others without giving a writeable choice.
