Some timings, all on Iyonix, 5.09, 256Mb RAM (1Mb broadband):
Access Drobe from Google: FF 8 secs; O2 7 secs
Access The Register from Drobe: FF 11 secs; O2 10 secs
Back to Drobe using 'back' arrow: FF 3 secs; O2 5 secs
Access Aprilia.com site: FF 15 secs; O2 18 secs.

All times are from mouse click to the completion of page loading (O2
tends to load pages in a rapid succession of screen redraws, whereas
with FF it appears complete, so while the page initially appears more
quickly with O2, completion of rendering is slower). The Aprilia.com
page is complex with lots of animated images. The version of Firefox
is beta2.

In general the performance of FF on a fast machine such as the Iyonix
is closely comparable to O2, which is remarkable considering the early
stage of FF development. The range of sites accessible with FF is also
greater.
