RONWUG Multi-Platform VNC night - 15th April 2009

RONWUG - RISC OS North West User Group - 15th April 2009

At next Wednesday's RONWUG meeting we're going to have a bit of a
multi-platform networking session, focusing on remote control operation of
computers using the popular VNC technology.

At the meeting we should have a mixture of operating systems including RISC
OS, Linux, Mac OS and Windows, all connected up and demonstrating the
possibilities.

If you have a machine that you want to bring in to join in the fun, please
bring either wireless capability or a UTP Patch Ethernet Cable with it if
you can.

Also at the meeting we'll be discussing the upcoming Wakefield show.

As always, visiting RONWUG is completely free and anyone is welcome.

Don't forget - it's this Wednesday.

If you have an idea for a topic at RONWUG - either one you'd like to do
yourself, or maybe a request for someone else to do, please let us know.

The Wakefield Show takes place on 25th April at the Cedar Court Hotel
(Junc 39 M1). For more details check the website at:

RONWUG Meetings - members, location & times

Meetings are open to all interested in RISC OS computers and there are no
membership or entrance fees. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of
every month:

7pm for 7:15pm, normally 3rd Wednesday of each month

Trafford Metrovick Rugby & Cricket Club
Finnybank Road
Sale
Cheshire
M33 6LR

There will be RONWUG members at the venue from around 6:45pm, and probably
until around 10pm (but you can arrive and leave whenever you like). There
is no certainty that the bar in the club will be open, but there is an off
license and a Chinese takeaway a few minutes walk away (and a pizza
parlour slightly further - do ask if you would like directions to any of
these). There should also be tea and coffee available at the venue
itself. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

Members frequently bring their hardware & software problems to the meetings
and there is usually time for such even when we have a formal speaker. Ring
John on 0845 006 8822 to check we have access to any equipment you may need.

The venue is just a few hundred yards from M60 J7, with plentiful free
parking right outside, and easy ground floor access. It is on the bus
route from Manchester city centre, and is also about fifteen to twenty
minutes walk from Dane Road Metro station. Contact us as below if you
need more details.

Steve Potts.
