Barry Thompson is talking about RAW Photographic
files and editing them, etc.

This month, Barry Thompson, co-founder and former chairman of
Derbyshire Acorn Risc Club which transformed into the Derbyshire Area
Risc Club after the demise of Acorn and has recently transformed into
DARC Technology Club is visiting us to give a talk about Photographic
files in the RAW format.
He is planning to cover the following topic areas:
"Understanding Raw Files",
"Profiling Monitors and Printers"
and "Help with Choosing a Digital Camera"
and if time permits will cover a few general hints and tips with
Adobe Photoshop CS2.
You might be asking why is he using Photoshop. The reason is simple,
currently there is no (AFAWK) software to handle the different RAW
file formats on RISC OS. But once the files have been converted to say
TIFF or JPEG they can of course be edited on RISC OS software. (Colin
Sutton - one of our members has written a supporting article in the
club newsletter, this month as well covering this aspect).
This is one of those talks that is cross platform.
The doors will open at 7.15pm with the actual meeting starting at 7:45
pm prompt till finish.
