Fooey! - "USB Powered Microphone Preamp" yielded no hits!

Google is not my friend, where did I go wrong. :-|

Looks like the only way I can slay a Dragon is with an AC powered device.

I got 438 hits on google with "USB microphone pre-amp", but all of them
used vacuum tube amplifiers, and needed AC power.

I got ZERO Google results with the search string:

"USB powered microphone preamp"

One gets the impression that low powered transistors do not have the
quality necessary to be used as microphone pre-amps.

Ooooh well, so be it. I can get all sorts of old fashioned vacuum
tube microphone amplifiers to do the job, prices from $99 up to $1,000.

For me, Dragon 9 Pro exhibits the best accuracy when I speak in a
slightly loud voice, louder than you would use when talking to a nearby
friend.

Whenever I try a normal volume voice (with any microphone) - there are
noticeably more errors, even with flawless enunciation.

By normal volume, I mean a voice you would use if you were talking to a
friend whose ear happened to be a foot or less away from your mouth.

Gadd, I hate to be tied to an AC power outlet, that is why I bought
battery powered Macs and PCs in the first place.
