I am looking for a PC headset with microphone for use in speech
recognition; the idea is to steer a robot with a reduced set of
instructions like "WALK", etc. To detect start and stop times of the
instructions (more or less accurately), the instructor should be able
to turn off/on the microphone so that the instructions can be isolated.
Is there anyone who knows of such a head-mounted mike?

Don't know if this helps, but there are several headsets which can be used
for voice recognition featuring a mute button such as the Plantronics DSP
100.
