Question about using external mic' with digital recorder (Dragon)


Is it possible to get as good accuracy with a digital recorder/external
microphone setup, as it is by connecting the external mic' directly to
the PC?

After all, a WAV sound file is a WAV sound file, the quality of the
resulting file is mainly dependent on the microphone, isn't it?

....or does the electronics of the recorder itself have an adverse
effect on the quality of the audio?


Hmm, come to think of it, perhaps no current Dragon approved digital
recorders will even accept an external microphone, dunno.
