Re: Looking for voice morphing state of the art

Given that TTS technology hasn't arrived yet to a point where it can
produce reasonably convincing results, I thought I could perhaps
achieve what I want by the use of "voice morphing", or perhaps by
modifying my own voice (like changing the age, gender, and more
attributes of the human voice). Moreover, I can control expressivity
and feelings with my natural voice (which is not yet "really" possible
with TTS). So if I could transform it to (realistically) sound like
very different characters, it'd be the perfect solution.

Now, the question: is there some software, commercial or not, that
would do this, with a very realistic result?

I have done some simple experiments with speech codecs in which I intercepted and modified the pitch and/or the LPC/LSP values before they were decoded. The interesting thing about this technique is the decoder can be unmodified, so you could use, for example, the built in GSM 6.10 codec inside Windows to decode the modified speech.

Have you seen any impressive results in this topic?

Thanks,
