How to get started

Hello

I am fairly new to this. I have written some programs. Eg a CRM type
program, telephony developer COM control, SMS developer COM control, a
product which provides telephony features to Outlook, etc.

I have started uploading to www.download.com - is that the best site for
this? Any others?

But is that all I need to do. I want to revamp my website - I assume this
is important?

Any tips from anyone?

I used to try to sell these products direct but the cost of having a
salesperson is pretty crippling.

Another question. I see people have started to download my products. I
have a free product on download.com - and almost 300 people have downloaded
this to date. But I am amazed I haven't had an email eg asking for this
feature or that feature etc. Is that common? Do lots of people download
these things and do nothing with them? Do people not provide feedback?

Anyway, this is my livelihood so will be very interested in any responses.
