ANN: PhotoToMesh - create 3D meshes from photographs
Ransen Software Releases Photo To CAD/CAM Mesh Convertor
You can use PhototoMesh V2 (designed for Windows XP and Vista)
to create three dimensional meshes from photographs or other
digital images. You can then import these meshes into three
dimensional programs like AutoCAD, Rhino, 3D Studio,
SolidEdge etc. And if you have access to a milling machine,
you can use the meshes to create real 3D objects using
StereoLithography.
PhotoToMesh is ideal for creating 3D relief objects from 2D
images like logos, as well as medals and other novelty items,
for example custom jewellry.
Simply open the photograph (or copy an imae in from the clipboard)
and then adjust the sliders to get the mesh you require. The
program features immediate 3D feedback so you get a quick
preview of the object you are creating. The output can be used
to control many types of numerically controlled machines.
Among the parameters you can set are the size of the mesh, the
smoothing options, the transfer functions and the upper and lower
limits. Adjusting these parameters mean that the program can
eliminate tiny imperfections in the original 2d image which would
result in physically difficult to machine meshes.
The solid and surface output file formats are STL, STLB and DXF.
The object can also be saved as dots and polylines (DXF). The
preview image can be saved as a normal bitmap file in BMP, JPG, PNG
and other image formats.
A free time unlimited demo version is available for download.
PhotoToMesh V2 costs $99 (US) and may be ordered securely on-line
