Moreover, how can I view the code for a function (built-in) e.g
filter? I want to make some changes in the code according to my needs.

Any function that has no mcode available by typing:  edit filter
is not viewable.  You will either have to figure out how to make it work for your needs or write your own function.

Thanks. The mcode is not viewable. So can anyone please answer the
first question.
