Doesn't "ui_edit_polygon" do all of that?
I have not looked at ui_edit_polygon, so I do not know. Examining its FEX summary, I see
that it is suitable for line/lineseries objects and for patches; the technique I gave
was suitable for all hgobjects including images and surfaces. We will not know whether
ui_edit_polygon would work (unmodified) for the original poster until the original
poster clarifies what they mean by a "marker plot".
Indeed, moving hgobjects is not possible with ui_edit_polygon. I thought on adding that for images, but surface objects are totally out of question due to their (in my view) insane memory usage.
Note: Due to delays in transmission of messages, and due to the time it took me to write
up my detailed reply, ...
