The following MATLAB commands take the circles image and

vary in brightness across the image.
How did lines (3) and (4) help in this process?
If you cannot answer the questions, I think it is not worth the time
writing such useless words.

Different people have different styles of answering. You have confused
"Cannot answer the question" for "Did not answer the question in the
way you were looking for".

When you post questions about code, don't just ask "What does it do?"
or "Why does it do this?". Instead, post your analysis of what the
code is doing and your speculation as to why it might be doing it.
Doing so will allow us to guide you in -how- to think about these
kinds of questions, thus helping you learn how to resolve them for
yourself. That will be of much more benefit to you in the long run
than if we simply answer a factual question.

As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day; teach
a man how to fish and he eats for a lifetime." You've been asking us
for a lot of fish lately, and now it is time for you to demonstrate your fishing skills for us to critique.

Thank you very much for your advice which makes sense.
