I am unable to understand what you are asking. In what way is your linear
equation related to the quadratic equation? Could you please explain your
problem in greater detail? Also note that an equation always possesses an
"equals" sign.

I would also like to point out that an equation of the form

A*x^2 + B*x + C = 0

is known as a "quadratic" equation, not a "quartic" equation.
