My first suggestion was to long in as an administrator, but
you say are are admin.

You could try this command:
daqregister('nidaq')

If that fails you should consider upgrading to a newer
version of Data Acquisition Toolbox. In the years since
R14SP3 was released there have been many, many fixes and
improvements.
It is likely that this issue was already addressed. The
current release is R2008a DAT version 2.12.
