m editor ->nedit?

I'm 'forced' to use matlab in a windows environment, and one
of the limitations of the matlab editor is its inability to
highlight an arbitrary rectangular block of text. Imagine an
array of calculations in the editor's window, and you just
want to copy the middle third of the array. I don't know
that this is possible with the matlab editor (but you can do
it in nedit).

Does anyone have a solution that would make the editor more
'nedit-ish' (nedit.org) in this respect? Aside from
installing cygwin and nedit, of course.

Thanks
