big avi files / aviread

Is there a size limitation for big avi-files? ~4GB, 28000 frames.
I am reading some 100 frames at time in a loop. At frame 7000 I get:
??? Error getting frame data.
Error in ==> aviread at 65
X = readavi(info.Filename,index-1);
Also if i start the loop at frame 7200 i get the error at first
interation.
