I'm not sure that I understand the question? Matlab is cross
platform in that m files don't care which OS that ML is running on;
as long as ML is installed the m files should run. Of course there
are some commands (wavplay and movie2avi both come to mind off the
top of my head) that only run on windows machines, but there are only
a few that are truly platform dependent commands like that.
If you have the install disks for ML on Unix then the same is (or
atleast was last time I had to deal with this) used for Linux and Mac
OSX. All have some annoying install issues usually requiring that
the license file be manually edited since ML, annoyingly, cannot seem
to get it right on its own on non-windows OS's. This might have been
fixed in the last year or two since I've had to deal with that
problem, though considering how clunky ML is/was on anything other
than windows, I doubt anything has been done to improve it.
Personally if you need to use ML extensively then I would get a
windows machine devoted to that ... everything is much faster (and
less buggy) in ML on windows ... sometimes orders of magnitude
faster. In fact, it was that very isssue that drove me (kicking and
screaming) back to windows from Linux. Not too mention that ML gui's
are just plain ugly in X11.
Maybe I got a bit off topic, but back to your question; you'll need
to be more specific if you want a more specific answer. The short
answer (coming from someone who does/has use(d) ML extensively on
Win, Mac, Linux and Unix): once you get ML installed everything goes
pretty smoothly (though not always quickly).
