I've encountered some interesting memory results with structs, but
usually when I've inadvertenty increased the index a vector struct.
An example is:
"x.f(1000)=3" versus
"x(1000).f=3"
Would you please mention what version (and service pack) of Matlab
you are using, and provide some executable code for a test?
