Problem with XLSREAD

I am using Matlab on RedHat Linux. When I am saving some data in
Office Org in *.xls format and trying to read it using XLSREAD
command it is showing some error. When I am doing the same thing
using any windows system there is no problem. What is the reason and
what is the solution?
