How indesign can kill quark.

Any new RIPs for presses over $100 000 use adobe postcript.
If Adobe would sneaky start adding features between the postcript RIP and Adobe Indesign that quark can't possibly match. Everyone knows Quarks Postcript files are inferior to Indesign. Much.
The only thing keeping Quark alive is because of Old Rips and dinosaur cheap agencies that don't handle indesign files well or the learning curve. Altough, extensions are a neat feature I must admit.
Consider: Almost every college/university in North America has converted to educational versions of Indesign at immense savings, Plus, Quark still charges them full price so they don't buy it any more. It's obvious the next generation of Designers and RIPS/Presses are Indesign driven. Quark shows no perspective in this battle. After version 6 they are starting to show a little offense, not enough.
I think what be the killing blow for Quark in the end is COST.
consider every designer needs creative suite. you get Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign and Acrobat professional for under $1200. Freehand is gone so why would some dumbass suggest to buy quark 7 for another 700+ when they have indesign already?
Mutliply this loss of money by the amount of machines in an design agency, say 40? 40 x $700 to use quark 7 instead if indesign, my god. Plus, all the students will have indesign experience and zero quark.
This battle between QUark 7 and indesign is about time. When the old rips/presses are gone. Indesign will win. Plain and simple. They don't have anything else.
Adobe is taking control, they started with the student faculties, they working with the Presses/rips, and they control the cost factor with the Creative Suite combo. In my opinion, anyone that dare says Quark is the future is holding on to the past and not looking into the future. there is no choice anymore, you need creatuve suite with the illustrator, photoshop combo. Freehand is gone, photoshop is god. Since you have to buy creative suite, then really you're gettin indesign for nothing extra. Why pay for Quark.
I use quark, I use indesign. They are both buggy at times and great at times, but it's not about the features, it's about what drives the industry. Quark ruled for over a decade because they drove the industry at the press side. Adobe can beat em at this now because they have the power of postcrip that drives the RIPS at press, and they know have a decent app called indesign that can fuke it out at quark programing level. QUARK IS DEAD>
