$40 Bucks!? And it won't even exist for a couple of months.
Better than guessing how to prep photos for coarse screens.
Yeah I know dot gain, contrast, sharpness... I want more!
Trying to estimate dot gain or UCR or GCR is old school
Get an ICC profile of the print condition.
Convert your RGB images to CMYK with that profile. That's all you need.
I 'd like to go further than that.
What colors are influenced by corase screens on newsprint quality?
Profiling the print condition will tell you about the "influence" on all
colors in a scientific, objective way.
skin tones look best under what contrast , cmyk values. etc... etc...
Look under a contrast? Huh? What does that mean. You talking about the
lighting ratio of the image or the basic density range of the image
overall? You making contrast moves with the brightness/contrast control
in Photoshop?
sharpness on newsprint?
You mean sharpening an image in Photoshop or the appearent sharpness of
images at different screen rulings?
.
