Okay here's the deal, I actually called Adobe (the licensing dept)and asked about the academic versions and the guy there said that adobe gives a few "general guidelines" to retailers and that it is up to them to accept me as a legit customer. He then sent me online to find adobe's preferred retailer list. When I was talking to him and explaining what I would be using the software for, I noticed on one of the websites he directed me to the requirements for Academic version was Students K-12, Teachers, Schools and all that. Students K-12?? Hey, I got two of them and one is going to be going to a trade school for computer graphics (don't ask me why, I hope he changes his mind)!! All I have to do is send a recent reportcard and student ID or enrollment papers, the software will still be registered to me because I bought it. The guy at Adobe said that we shouldn't have a problem at all.Ok Brian Go here http://www.adobe.com/education/main.html Adobe answers all your question on their website but I will point out,
I do not trust the website you linked to at $599 for CS2. They are not being completely truthful in what they say and they are a rip off. If you qualify to buy it the Educational version of CS2 Premium it sells for $399 see the price list at Adobe

I am SO glad I called adobe, and I think he was taken back a little bit that someone actually called wanting to do the right thing and buy software legally.
So I'm covered. I called Adobe. I will be buying the software from one of the preferred retailers. I meet the requirements. So why do I still feel like a pirate? Is it because I'm able to buy it for less money because of some loophole? Is it a loophole if Adobe knows about it? Maybe since I do this stuff for my church God helped out a little?
Questions, questions, questions...
