I am looking to implement an snmp subagent on an HPUX box, which would
run a script on that box. The box already has the standard snmp agent,
snmpd, and I can view data from this through openNMS. I am looking to
use the script to remsh system performance data from a VxWorks box and
also view this data in openNMS.
In general I think I will have to use Net-SNMP or SNMP++, but I have no
experience of these. If anyone has done anything similar, could they
advise me what to do to get this working?
A couple of questions I have initially:
1) Do I have to recompile the main agent on the HPUX box?
2) How do I make the main agent talk to the subagent?

Of course if your server is prone to running out of resources you should also be collecting that data via snmp with thresholds to notify you before you have an outage or at least graphing it so you'll understand the trends. ... Scripting SNMP ... So after searching for an hour or two, I am comming to the conclusion ... that there is no way to script the basic setup of SNMP.... (microsoft.public.windows.server.scripting)
