The submissions for the presentation were all after my initial
publication. apparently, the academic researchers are so
academic that they don't seem to think that searching USENET is
really "worth" their time... They said something like it could
be difficult to find such truly novel and worthwhile inventions
under the USENET namespace...
This is absolutely true, in my opinion.
Well, IMVHO, if your trying to figure out if you work is not prior art
then posting a query to some of the fine groups within USENET is a
MUST!
Posting a query may be a good idea. But trying to search the
archives is much more difficult.
