So it is an IBM SSA Disk OK
IBM has used this hdd with own HotSpare Cases with an included coverter
from sca to ssa



My Problem is that i want to use this disks in standard SCSI
enviroment
with Adaptec ore ICP controllers

Then do.

And then ??

with adatec- in adaptec bios i see only 4GB
with ICP - no hardware raid or host drive is possible


The SSA(SeriellStorageAttached) is a IBM standard for RS600 or AIX
StorageServers

Pity that the drives are SCA and have nothing to do with SSA.

SCA connector yes Firmware SSA



I tired to get the Firmware from Seagate Support but no support for
OEM
disks
I tired to get the Firmware from IBM - only for AIX customers
IBM sold the Storagedivisionto Hitachi - no support for IBM disks.

So PLEASE if anybody has a firmware for this disk send it to me or
post
a link
