Can anyone tell me what SCSI 320 is like? I've got an UltraSCSI 320 Cheeta

What is Ultra 320 like?
The official name for this transfer mode is Fast160
(160Megatransfers/s). Because the bus width for this mode is always
16Bit, this results in 320MByte/s (therefore the names "Ultra320" or
"U320" respectively).
I'm wanting to get into scsi so I'm curious. Eventually I'd like SCSI or
SAS. I don't know anything about SAS though. I know what it stands for and
that's it.
SAS is SCSI too. SAS use a SATA-like physical layer to transport the
SCSI protocol. It is a serial interface like FiberChannel but cheaper.
SATA is too slow for what I want, so I'm thinking of SCSI or SAS unless
there's a better option.
Too slow for what?
I'll be wanting the faster drives etc even though I'm not a server or
anything major high end like that. I'm all about performance.
I'll be running Windows XP Pro and Vista Ultimate as well. One of the two
anyhow. The PC would have up to 4gb ram and as much hard drive space as
possible. I'd be using an SATA drive for backup so performance isn't needed
on that one as much as the boot drive.
Try it but don't expect a miracle (like Windows boots twice as fast or
something) ...
