Hi again,
I'm running XP x64 and an Adaptec 29160N U160 controller. This
configuration runs fine. But I just picked up a new U320 controller, an
Adaptec 39320A and would like to install it obviously.
When I pull the old card and plug in the new, everything at BIOS boots
just
fine. I can access all the configuration menus for the 39320A. The
trouble
is when XP starts to boot...it blue screens. Safe Mode same thing. I am
hoping I don't have to start from scratch and re-install the OS.
Anybody got any suggestions? Is it a driver issue? Is there a way around
it? Thanks in advance.

Seems like there'd be no harm in approaching the problem as a driver issue
until proven otherwise. I'd put the original card back in, fetch a set of
installable drivers and install same, then shut down, put the new card in,
reboot and see what happens next...
Thanks bud...that did it. I appreciate the help.
Now, if you don't mind me asking another question. My cable is a 68 pin
U160. Would I benifit by upgrading it as well to a U320 cable? They look
the same to me.
