Adaptec 29160 + AcceleRAID 250 ?

Hello:
I am in need of advise on how to set up some new SCSI hardware that I
have been donated recently.
At present I have a W2000 Professional SP3 setup, (used as a
workstation) on a Soyo SY-6BB motherboard (440BX chipset) with an Intel
Pentium III 450mhz. processor (512K cache), 512Mb PC133 RAM and an
Adaptec 29160 card.
Save the floppy, there are no IDE drives connected to the board.
The Adaptec 29160 card has a 40x CD-ROM, CD-R and HP Surestore 5000 DAT
units connected to the 50 SE connector and three IBM 34L9195 (9.1Gb
10K) SCA-80 drives (forced to SE) on the 68 pin LVD/SE connector using
a Foxconn SE SCSI cable with termination and 68/SCA-80 adaptors
(SCA8068SLVD from www.stsi.com).
The IBM drives were forced to SE because I kept getting errors in the
log file using a terminated LVD cable and the drives at 80mb/s.
The new hardware I received is a Mylex AcceleRAID 250 PCI adapter with
a 32Mb memory cache.
I'd like to use the Mylex card to set up a RAID1 array using another
two identical drives I have to mirror all my data, (I can keep ghost
images of the OS on CDs) so my guess is that I'll keep booting from the
Adaptec 29160 card and disable the BIOS on the Mylex 250.
My questions with respect to this would be:
Both cards will want to use SCSI ID 7: on which card should I change
the ID?
Is there a problem with using more than three of these SCA adaptors on
a single internal LVD/SE cable?
How could I make more efficient use of this hardware? (I have, in all,
nine of these IBM 34L9195 drives)
Thanks in advance,
CIV
.
