I have an LS50 (and LS30 before that) but if I were to upgrade I'd
give Minolta 5400 *Mark II* a very good look!
It's important that it's Mark *II* not Mark I because they are totally
different scanners. Mark II has a (single) white LED as the light
source while Mark I uses a conventional light source.
The price of both LS50 and 5400 II is about the same but 5400 II has
multi-scanning and 5400 resolution, while LS50 only has 4000 and
multi-scanning has been disabled by Nikon for marketing "reasons". :-/
