I have an HP 3055 which uses the 12a toner cartridge. I was just
installing a new one, and forgot to remove the tape that holds the drum
door shut. I got the cartridge half way in, and it won't go any
further. Nor will it come out. I have applied only light force, and
some jiggling, trying to get it out, so I believe that I have not broken
anything YET.
Suggestions.

It's very hard without looking at the printer. The problem is that even if you
took the covers off the cavity that the cartridge is in is very hard to access.
You may have to be a "little" forceful unlessyou want to go to the expense of
paying for service. For what it's worth, if you get it out and the drum door is
broken you can still use the cartridge, the drum door is designed to protect
the drum when the cartridge is not in the printer, it performs no useful
function when installed in the printer.
