Jobs taking minutes for the server to send to the printer

Hello,

About a year ago network printers began taking between 2 to 10 minutes
for the printer to start printing. I deleted/reinstalled the
printers, same thing. I deleted/reinstalled the printers on the
servers same thing. I deleted the printers from the servers and from
the workstations reinstalling on both, same thing. I install the
printer using the IP address bypassing the server normal printing
restored. This did not happen on all workstations or all servers.
The network admins tell me nothing changed at the time there weren't
any server updates or added software. OK, I got through the
pandemonium at the time and all affected are happy. It started up
again two different servers several different departments on the
second floor of a three story building, but not everyone. The net
admins tell me there is nothing new on the servers. Has anyone seen
anything like this? IBM servers, Cisco routers, HP printers and a
hodge-podge of no name brand PCs. If this keeps up I will find my
self installing 1-3 IP configured printers on close to 500 PCs. Has
anyone seen anything like this before?

Take care and thank you,

Doug
